Dear Community,
The opioid crisis and the pervasiveness of fentanyl are of the most devastating public health crises of the 21st century and have significantly impacted our St. Louis Communities.
Over the past three years, there have been over 1100 overdoses in the St. Louis area. Our communities also feel the economic impact of the crisis.
Alderwoman Tina “Sweet-T” Pihl, State Rep. Kimberly-Ann Collins, and the office of Congresswoman Cori Bush of Missouri’s First District are sponsoring a community listening session in the 17th Ward to hear how this crisis has affected you, your family, and your community. They want to listen to your ideas and your voices.
Our goals are the following:
- Hear and document community impact regarding the opioid and fentanyl crisis and the
- Use the information to work with local, state, and federal partners to address expressed needs and concerns
- Help identify support for community members based on community input
- Work with community members and partners to develop and implement harm reduction plans based on community input
This meeting will be held in the Assembly at Innovation Hall (in the Cortex Complex) at 1220 Duncan Ave. St. Louis, MO 63110, from 1:00 pm – 4: 00 pm on April 30th.
